sweet sweet honey bees

I'm not a passionate person per say. I have a handful of things that I feel very strongly about. But they could all be listed on my palm with a Sharpie.

Family. Faith. Fashion. You know, stuff like that.

But political things boggle my mind and although I surround myself with opinionated people, I am usually reluctant to take a hard stand on things. I don't want to be like all the people walking around blabbing that the world was flat just before Magellan debunked the whole system.

I like to keep my options open. What's that about saying less and seeming smarter?

But I find that I have become down right passionate about the lowly plight of the honey bee. Did you know that they are dissappearing?

Antropologie recently got on board to shed light on the problem.

I just love Antro more and more.

Hagen Daz ice cream has been running a huge campaign to save the bees for a while now. You can read about what you can do to help here, on their site.
I thought I would start my own hive this past Spring, but instead of a queen bee, I brought home our little princess. The hive was put on hold, but not forgotten.

Maybe next spring...

Secondsister Honey. I like the sound of that.

I admit to feeling a bit nervous when I started reading this. I've been immersed in a whole lot of political stuff and I was just steeling myself for...

HONEY! I love it! One of my favorite people was a guy who used to come wash all the windows of our house inside and out for less than $100. He left his window-washing business to devote more time to his bees in Topanga Canyon!

Several of my friends are bee keepers and there seems to be a pretty simple explanation as to why bees are dying. It would seem that it is a simple solution to address the issue.

So glad you weren't starting a rant about why our kids shouldn't be subjected to a presidential address today or how our president definitely wasn't born here. I need a break from that drivel. Bees I can get behind.

I found Bee Movie to be very educating on the subject

What a great post! I was just telling the hubby this summer that I'd love to keep bees. I've read a couple of books on it, and it seems very rewarding to keep those little guys. Keeping them going is a great cause.

Believe it or not, we have had more bee's on our property than ever before. Last April we had a very large swarm of bee's in one of our oak trees, a week later we had another swarm in our cedar tree... possibly the same batch of bees. I don't know much about the doings of bees but what I do know is that we have a zillion of them after we planted all sorts of flowers(especially lavender) and fruit tree's. I think they're all at my house! We're doing what we can to keep them here, they're wonderful!

And HONEY.
This is what I want to read about. Thank you.

And can you PLEASE make me a necklace that reads FAMILY. FAITH. FASHION. ??? Because honestly, that is just so perfect.
