you scream, i scream, we all scream

This may come as a shock to you, but my kids fight.

Like the dickens.

And what may be even more shocking to you (it is to me) is that I say things like, "I'll turn this car around right now!" and "So help me, just wait until your father gets home."

I hate that I say these things. They just come flying out before I can stop them.  They are so cliche'.  So housewife. You'd think I could come up with something more original.

But really. The babies are only one.  I thought I'd have a little more time before they grew to hate each other.

It seems to me that we have an exponential amount of screaming in our house.  And I used to work in a book store. Because I like quiet. And peace.

Oh and did you know that babies have tiny little vocal cords can reach a pitch at the very tippy top of the human audible zone, right before the sound turns into a dog whistle?  It so happens to be the exact frequency used by the military in devices that cause victims to become dizzy and vomit.

So if you happen upon me in the fetal position, covering my ears and rocking despondently, in a puddle of vomit, you can assume there has been a baby smack down at the Meeker house.

Please Lord, grant me patience.

Oh man, I wish we were neighbors and could help each other out in times of motherhood crises like this. I'm talking margaritas and taking children. Because I, too have been introduced to the vomit-inducing decibel of babies and it is not pleasant... good luck, soldier.

Put in your earplugs, buckle your seat belt and hold on tight!!!
My kids are ages 13,10,7 and 5 and they still fight and the noise is still what kills me. I like the peace and the quiet but it only happens when they are asleep!
Good Luck!

My 3 year old can hit a note so high with his screeching that it could give Mariah Carey and run for her money!! lol...I think it's funny when he randomly does this in the grocery store and scares the heck out of people, they jump and look at me like I am crazy...sorry to let you know but the quiet doesn't end, my 14 and 11 year olds fight terrible, it's only quiet when they are in school, your kids are really cute, thanks for sharing the videos!

I don't have kids but my mother tells me the only place you can't hear them screaming is in the shower...

So go take yourself a nice, hot, long shower and shut out the screaming for a while. They will be OK... unless they kill each other.

I feel your pain. I only have one daughter that is two and a half, but some days she drives me crazy. Today is one of those days. She is in her whiny phrase and will whine over every thing. I just can't take the crying some days. And she likes to see how many times a day she can say Mama. This drives me crazy, which is funny because I remember the days that I thought she would never say Mama. But luckily I have a grandma's sleep over planned for tomorrow. So maybe some of my sanity will be recovered. I hope you get some peace and quiet soon.

Before we met, my neighbor Janet and I used to worry that we'd hear the other's screams at our children as they fought with their siblings. It's a madhouse!

Haven't you learned yet?? You don't ever, ever, EVER pray for patience...it comes in the form of more screaming!
