encounters of the weird kind

I was nestled on the sofa Monday morning, happily eating my Kashi cereal, when a stranger came down the stairs and asked if I had seen the really cute baby bedding by Petunia Pickle Bottom.

I froze, like a deer in headlights, with my spoon hovering above the bowl dripping milk. I wasn't exactly scared per se. The stranger looked exactly like my husband.

But I knew it wasn't my husband because of three things. Let me break it down for you.

1. This person had apparently been shopping.
2. This person had been shopping for expensive things.
3. This person used the words bottom and cute.

My husband does not shop for anything but camping gear. He is extremely suspicious of expensive brands. He does not use words like cute and bottom.

I have a theory. I think that aliens beamed up Sugar Daddy and Carson Kressley, performed some experiments on them, and inadvertently put them back in the wrong body.

This theory was solidified yesterday, when I received a package in the mail from Layla Grace.

Sugar Daddy told me to wait to open it until he got home. This is what was inside.Talk about a shock and awe campaign. I am befuddled. Delighted, but befuddled.

And I'm a little worried about my dear husband walking around in Carson's body. I mean it wasn't a very fair switch if you ask me. Ben really got the short stick. So to speak.

Awesome bag! Well, even if there was a switch-a-roo, you better keep this one until you get everything for your new little sweet pea. Congrats on your upcoming arrival. :)

Get ready for more transformations as Ben becomes the father of a girl. It does something to their brain that is confusing but oh so adorable. The thought of a vulnerable she cracks into their macho exterior and brings out the sweetest things imaginable. I have to say although we have 2 girls I am still waiting for Trav to go shopping for girl stuff. As far as he has gone is to come home with pink basketball gear but that in itself speaks volumes. Just wait until he comes home with pink camping gear or carries the pink diaper bag- that is the cutest!

Aww! How sweet is that! I think someone's a wee bit excited about the new bundle:)- I just adore a man that loves being a daddy that much. Congrats, by the way, on your daughter. What an amazing gift!

April-in my experience, this the perfect example of a moment where you should ask no questions, kiss the stranger and be grateful! I love this story and actually, I am not so surprised by Ben's adoration of you and his joy and anticipation of your new baby girl!
