child labor

The boy has four chores to do every morning.

*Feed the dog
*Make his bed
*Pick-up his room
*Brush his teeth

I was accused yesterday of being bossy. I told him I must be a little bossy or his chores would never get done.

He said to Ben "Dad, do you know how hard it is for me to do my chores?"

Ben said, "No, how hard?"

"It's like a dog trying to open a soda can."

The drama.

In his defense, opening a soda can would be really difficult, without the opposable thumbs.

That's so funny. I tell mine "I only keep reminding because it hasn't been done yet." It never ends.

tell your kid that we have a dog that not only opens soda cans, but who feeds himself, cleans the house, and brushes his teeth, all on his own.
so there.

sometimes it's dog-opening-a-soda-can-hard for me to do my household chores too. though, I'm usually pretty good at the teeth-brushing thing :)

Your boy does more every morning then I managed to do yesterday. And I am twenty four! ;)
