welcome to my studio

My studio has been "under construction" for so long now, I can't remember when I started.

What I do know is that it will never be done. I don't want it to be. If it is to be a space to call my own, then it must change with my whims. I'm a fickle gal. One day I love something and the next I'm over it. This is why I can never ever get a tattoo. What a fiasco that would be.

So here it is, as it is today. A little cleaner than usual because well, I knew you'd be looking.

Oh MY. I just love it. The color on the walls is perfect, I love the light and the sewing table, I love the poster on the closet door, and your paper wreath hanging in the corner. It's amazing April. I can't imagine having a space like that. Oh how the creativity would flow!

this is adorable. so wish I could come plop on your floor, play with the babies and drink a cup of joe while you worked away, creating treasures galore.

I, too, love the color. I am in the process of painting my craft room area, and this gave me lots of inspiration...maybe someday my space will look as neat and serene! (At least I can dream!)

I am mesmerized. Truly..Not just with this post but I've already bopped around the site and visited your etsy and I will come back and I've bookmarked you and would follow you if I could find it, but I am almost through all 450 plus studios. I started at the ends and worked toward the middle. I am tired and knees are cramping and I will come back another day refreshed.......

Whew! ( she takes a breath)

I just have one innocent question, how many things did you have to put away for this photo shoot? I see all of the things you create? Could you possibly have that organized of a studio? I am curious about your storage situation. I imagine you have figured out an ingenuis way of putting everything in it's place. You do everything else so well. Please, for the little guy, say you hid a few things. Yours respectfully, Melissa
Oh, and I haven't told you this time how cool you are.

Oh and P.S.

Melissa- See those closet doors? Behind them lurks fabric, paint, paper, adhesives, feathers, stamps, tools, inks, ribbon, ribbon, ribbon, books, beads, art pads, thread, rulers, brushes, punches, etc. etc. etc.

It's busting at the gills. That's why I keep those doors closed.

I WANT that crystal and pink flower brooch!!! And the artwork on the back of the door is amazing. Any chance you could share the source? It reminds me of the poem "The Owl and the Pussycat." I loved it as a child and always wanted to own a runcible spoon. Still do, if the truth is known!

Can you please tell me who did the portrait on the wall? I love it!

Cindy at LottieBird said...

uhm, a lot clean.
and spare.
I want my studio to be so...what's the description? Well, relaxing. But will I be able to create without an explosion of things around me. Or is that hindering me?

I have many of the same books. haven't used the Wool Pets book yet, but thought I absolutely had to have it to get started right away...four months ago! Wait, five!

Maybe it's still waiting because my studio is not clean.

Love seeing the close-up photos. Your jewelry is just gorgeous and I'm intrigued by the hanging/chandelier with all the paper pieces (butterflies, maybe?).
